From Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust, trees breathe out life from which they grow
into our souls, who escape our mouths, speaking in tongues, sending up a prayer
to be fruitful like your call, the call of the wild, answered by the being of God’s wish,
man made in the makers image, of light upon our earth, water to quench our thirst,
raise us up, lifted to a higher realm, by the melody with its sound, which is sung by
the birds that grace our sky, flown by wind which skims our backs, built strong from
envy and greed, forcing us to fall on our knees, touch the darkened soil beneath our
feet, bleeding from wounds which have turned this dirt to clay, stained red, although
a luminescent orange when the sun makes company on a hot summers day, a mirage
appears, hardwiring humanity for hope. Optimism, which boosts our thoughts from
this ground, weighted by gravity that grabs us to keep us down, taken to another
space in reality-call our romanticism realism because we can have both, connected
by this Everlasting Oath- Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy
kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
