Roundabout Days
Downtown one day wonders round about days
Hot pavement rolling beneath the feet that beat the streets
With towers full of windows inside people full of work
Lawyers and Liars share the same vicinity
In with me, out with them, elevator rage
Stuck stagnant in a place that repeats it’s play
Like the Phantom of the Opera, it never loses it’s glory
No matter how dark it gets, people will pay to come
They line up waiting at the train station
Full of tickets, passes, one-way rides
Once you’re here, say goodbye, it’s easy to get lost
In the Downtown wonders of roundabout L.A.
Lady Of The Night
Red high heels clicking to the tick-tock of midnight madness
Black fishnets flirting with milk-white thighs , that the men trail behind
Diving neck-line revealing part of what they’d pay for
Much less glamorous than, “Pretty Women” described
Stained lips the color that screams attention- attached
To a soul that’s resorted to selling
She’s a saleswoman, a saleswoman who sells the soul of humanity-
Sexuality- pleasing men who are unpleased
Sunset Blvd. dreams looking dreary at this hour
The Hollywood sign isn’t lit at night- that only happens in the movies
She’d wish they’d call cut as she continues to walk
down the street she knows oh too well
Marilyn Monroe & James Dean keep her company-
Stars shining through out dreams turned upright
Lady of the Night- click click walks on by
City Of Angels
Los Angeles City Of Angels
Angels shining on
Fidelities in numbers
Rising from dusk till dawn
Traffic accidents, shootings, or stabbed
Most die of a broken heart
Broken heart of broken dreams
Dreams of effervescent things
Things that he used to like
Like strolling through Griffith Park
“A Rebel Without A Cause” staring at the stars
Stars shining down with Angels
Angels of where you are
I think of you while driving through this city
This city was your home
Home is where you’ve gone
God has called you on
Drink It Down
Take a shot how do you feel?
Black and white abyss
Critics always raving
With their top ten list
Glamour living by the Glamorous
As others are sitting out sick
Slip by the trash sleeping on their pillow
Fight under the freeway to them it’s their will
Take a shot how do you feel?
A little hazed by the weather, no one likes change
Wait 5 minutes nothing will be the same
Swallow you up by concrete parades
Quiet in a place full of crowds
No one knows your name
Take a shot how do you feel?
A little happier now, things are good these days
Makin’ enough money to fill what you pay
Laugh a little louder, let it slip away
Be a little tougher by the rage and all you hate
Take a shot how do you feel?
Angry about who you’re with
Settling for what’s convenient
Time is a relentless gift
Missing what you used to have
Take a shot how do you feel?
Out in the streets alone
Blinking Billboards and traffic jams
The place you call your home
The City is unforgiving
You never get a break
Fast paced life, settles by the bar on the corner
It’s where makers meet their mate
Take another shot
